TLC Springwater Supports Cleveland’s Walk for Hunger

For the 6th year in a row, TLC Springwater supported the thousands of dedicated individuals who came out to the 26th Annual Walk for Hunger in effort to raise awareness and funds for the hungry in the greater Cleveland area.

TLC served as the premier bottled water provider, hydrating more than 1,400 participants and volunteers who took part in the annual event held on May 10. The annual charity walk has become a fixture in the Cleveland community since 1992.

“We know that there are people in our communities that don’t have enough food to eat.  We also know what a great job The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland does to help provide meals to those in need, especially children and families.  TLC Springwater is proud to support this great charity and event,” said Kazell Pugh, TLC President.

“Funds raised by the Walk for Hunger are more important than ever before. Rising food prices and fewer resources are forcing families in need to face more frequent and longer episodes of hunger,” Dana Irribarren, Executive Director of the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland.  “Hungry families are turning to hunger centers in their community more often and it is critical that we keep shelves stocked to feed this need.”

The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland provides food to more than 60,000 people each month — 40% of those served are children. This year’s Walk for Hunger event raised more than $140,000. Every $1 raised in the Walk for Hunger will buy four nutritious meals.
